Alfred Israel Rosendahl was a German Jewish refugee. Expelled from Germany in 1939, he settled in Antwerp. In September 1941, he was given permission to live in Schaerbeek. Summoned to the Dossin Barracks in Mechelen, he was the first person to be put down for transport 1 of 4 August 1942. Even thought the immediate execution rate for transport 1 was a withering 26%, it was still the lowest rate for all the transports from the Dossin Barracks. Alfred Israel Rosendahl and 743 other deportees were admitted to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, but even so he survived only for 14 days.
