Chuma Miara and Freyda Miara

These two Polish Jewish sisters lived in Antwerp-Berchem, at 126 Gitschotellei.

Chuma Miara, 16 years old, in 1941 and Freyda Miara, 15 years old, ca. 1940
These two Polish Jewish sisters lived in Antwerp-Berchem, at 126 Gitschotellei. Chuma was arrested in the night of the great raid of 15 August, even though her home was outside the perimeter of the Judenaktion. Her sister Freyda was arrested three days later. The two sisters were deported on Transport 5, though probably not in the same carriage, unless they managed to swap their deportation numbers so that they could stay together. They arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau on 27 August, and then disappear from the records.
