The Dimenstein-Cutsowsky family

Sophie Dimenstein, 16 years old, born in Antwerp, answered the summons to go to the Sammellager Mecheln.

Sophie Dimenstein, 16 years old, born in Antwerp, answered the summons to go to the Sammellager Mecheln. Deported on Transport 2 on 11 August 1942, she died an unrecorded death as soon as she arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Her father Noach Dimenstein, 44, was an unemployed diamond cleaver from Bialystok. He was sent as a forced labourer to Northern France, and was subsequently deported on Transport 17 from Mechelen. He disappeared without leaving a trace. Her sister, Salomée, 10 years old, was deported on Transport 21 with her mother Rachel Cutsowsky (39). They disappeared without trace upon arrival in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
