Having emigrated from Poland in 1929, the whole family settled in Antwerp. Moizesz Leib Hollander was a merchant. The family lived in the Consciencestraat, a street outside the Jewish quarter, which was relatively unscathed by the raids with only four arrests being made. On 9 October 1942, the entire family was taken to the Dossin Barracks. Moizesz Leib Hollander was then 48, Schewa Herbst 46, Fanny 16 and Rosa 11. The next day Transport 13 took them to Auschwitz-Birkenau and they disappear from view.
