The Minz-Guze family

Aged 16, Leopold Minz was summoned to the Dossin Barracks for Transport 3 on 15 August 1942.

Aged 16, Leopold Minz was summoned to the Dossin Barracks for Transport 3 on 15 August 1942. His father, Israel Minz, a 48-year-old diamond broker, was sent for forced labour in the North of France and was deported on Transport 16 on 31 October, but then disappeared without a trace. His mother, Paula Guze, 44, born in Antwerp, was initially protected by her Belgian nationality, but was arrested later on in the raid on Belgian Jews and deported on Transport 22 B on 20 September 1943, before disappearing from the records. LĂ©opold Minz, who was deported alone on 15 August 1942, was the first of the family to disappear without a trace.
