Pinchos Waksdrykier, a Polish Jew, emigrated from Warsaw with his family in 1938. The family settled in Brussels where Pinchos worked as a tailor, while his wife, Grina Laja, looked after their two children, Cecilia and Ezra Benjamin. They were aged 13 and 11 respectively when they were deported. The father was 40 and the mother 37. They lived in Schaerbeek, far away from the districts where the only great raid in Brussels had been organized in early September 1942. Taken to the Dossin Barracks on 17 October, the family was put on Transport 14 on 24 October. They all disappeared upon arrival at Auschwitz-Birkenau without leaving any other record than their names on the transport list.
