These Polish Jews were 36 and 13 years old respectively when they were deported. They were captured during the first of the Antwerp raids, which took place on the night of 15-16 August 1942. They lived at 123 Lange Kievitsstraat, the street that was the primary target of the raids. They were deported in 1942 on Transport 4, the deadliest of all the transports from Mechelen: 87 % of the women and girls were gassed upon arrival, mother and child had no chance of survival.
