Sarah Rozman

Sarah Rozman was born in Brussels in 1925. Her parents were Abraham Rozman, a tailor, and Roja Achkerman. The family fled to Paris when the Germans invaded Belgium on 10 May 1940. Abraham Rozman (49) was arrested under unknown circumstances and deported from Drancy on 22 June 1942 via Transport 3 to Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Sarah and her mother were arrested on 16 July 1942 during the major round-up in Paris. Along with 12,800 other victims of the anti-Jewish raid, they were probably held for several days at the Vélodrome d’Hiver before being transferred to Drancy. Sarah Rozman (17) and her mother Roja Achkerman (35) were deported from the assembly camp via Transport 10 to Auschwitz-Birkenau on 24 July 1942. None of the Rozman family survived deportation.
